The event, which will be held in the Montview Student Union, will feature nationally prominent speakers discussing policy and cultural issues of critical importance to American communities, faith leaders, and everyday Christians.
Liberty University will host the National Association of Christian Lawmakers (NACL) and its National Policy Conference on June 5-7.
The event, now in its ninth year, will feature speeches, expert panel discussions, a recognition of distinguished Christian leaders making a substantial impact to society, Liberty student-led discussions, and calls to prayer for the nation.
Speakers and participants include Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark.; Kassie Dulin, special assistant to President Trump and policy advisor for the White House Faith Office; Indiana Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith; North Carolina State Sen. Ted Alexander; conservative radio host Todd Starnes; Dr. Jennifer Bauwens, director of the Family Research Center for Family Studies; John Solomon, an award-winning investigative journalist and the editor and chief of Just the News; Susan Michaels, the director of American Christian Leaders for Israel; Rep. John McCravey, a South Carolina legislator who introduced the South Carolina heartbeat bill; and education reform advocate Sam Sorbo.
These and other participants will highlight and debate challenges, solutions, and the latest news on some of the most important topics currently affecting American communities, the Christian church, and believers concerned about the future of the country. These include:
• Abolishing abortion in America.
• Combating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) policies.
• U.S. border security and national security threats.
• Protecting women’s sports.
• The fight over obscenity in public schools and public libraries.
• Human trafficking.
• Standing with Israel.
• The dangers of debanking.
• How to encourage more Christians to serve as elected officials and register more Christians to vote.
• The effort to establish chaplains in public schools, along with poster displays of the Ten Commandments.
• The impacts of the second Trump administration.
The event will also feature catered meals, special music by Dr. Johnny Minick, and a welcome by Jonathan Falwell, Liberty University’s chancellor and senior pastor at Thomas Road Baptist Church.
In addition, conference attendees are invited to participate in a series of add-on events, including tours of the Appomattox Court House, the D-Day National Memorial, or one of more than two dozen museums and historical sites in and around the city of Lynchburg.
The NACL is a relatively new organization. Founded in 2018 and incorporated the following year as the “first fully functioning national para-legislative organization led by Christian elected officials at the local, state, and federal levels,” it seeks to “unite federal, state, and local lawmakers in support of clear Biblical principles by meeting regularly to discuss major issues, and propose model statutes, ordinances, and resolutions to address significant policy concerns from a Biblical worldview.”
Its National Advisory Board features high-profile leaders and influencers, including Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas and currently the U.S. ambassador to Israel; Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council; pro-life advocate Kristan Hawkins; Mat Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, a legal firm focused on protecting religious liberty; Bishop E.W. Jackson, founder and president of Staying True to America’s Destiny (S.T.A.N.D.); and Bill Federer, a speaker and author on American heritage and culture.
Throughout the year, the NACL has standing committees working on advancing seven key issues: marriage and family; life; religious freedom; human dignity; local, state, and federal affairs; education; and American-Israel relations.
It currently has 37 state chairs, many of whom are state legislators, statewide elected officials, and local representatives serving at the county level and on regional school boards.
As an exclusive event for Christian lawmakers, faith leaders, policymakers, pastors, and believers, the NACL’s annual National Policy Conference is a unique event. It’s one that specifically aligns with the vision of Dr. Jerry Falwell Sr., who once echoed in a mountainside prayer decades ago that he was committed to training a “generation of giants who can indeed turn our nation around and change our world for Christ before the trumpet sounds.”
In the same way, NACL’s annual gathering invites those concerned about the nation’s drift from biblical principles — principles that clearly formed the basis of our country in both the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution — to take decisive action to restore those values to our nation’s governments, institutions, and cultural norms.
The NACL’s Annual Policy Conference will be hosted at Liberty University’s Montview Alumni Ballroom. For more information about this event, and to register, click HERE.
