As America prepares to celebrate its 250th Birthday next year, the Standing for Freedom Center is providing a weekly prayer guide to help Americans pray for God’s grace, protection, and restoration of our great nation.
The Standing for Freedom Center has launched a new prayer initiative, “United We Pray: 250 Years and Counting,” asking Christians to join us in praying for our great nation as America prepares to celebrate its Semiquincentennial Birthday celebration on July 4, 2026.
This significant milestone comes even as America finds itself in the midst of an intense spiritual battle for the soul of our country, a battle that is resulting in ongoing attacks on our God-given freedoms and on Christians speaking and living out their faith in the public square.
As such, we ask you to join us in persistently covering America in prayer and asking God for His guidance and providential care.
Participants who sign up will receive an email each week featuring a devotional, passage of Scripture, and encouraging prayer for our nation’s protection, its people, and its restoration.
Historically, America’s Christians have always prayed for their country — in good times and bad, in times of peace and war, during economic uncertainty and cultural upheaval — faithfully relying on God’s promises that a nation that seeks His face by humbling itself, repenting, and following His precepts will be blessed.
“We want to invite everyone to celebrate our nation by praying for revival and reformation,” explained Ryan Helfenbein, executive director of the Standing for Freedom Center. “Our hope is that by participating in this prayer initiative, you will be inspired, educated, and ultimately encouraged in your faith and to fight for the values that made America great.”
With the “United We Pray” initiative, the Standing for Freedom Center joins with the larger “America Prays” movement announced by President Trump at the Museum of the Bible in September. More than 70 organizations have connected with the movement to get a million Americans joining together to pray weekly for our nation.
As Scott Turner, secretary of Health and Human Services, put it: “One million people, every single week, 10 people getting together to pray for our country and for our citizens. Think about the miracles that would take place over the next year. Think about the transformation that you and I could witness in communities all across the land.”
We agree. And we hope you’ll join us and thousands of our fellow citizens in praying that God will continue to bless America in the coming months and beyond.
