The Murph Challenge is a fitness event that honors Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, a U.S. Navy SEAL officer who was killed in action in Afghanistan. Lieutenant Murphy was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions during Operation Red Wings where he sacrificed his life for the safety of his squad. The challenge was created to commemorate his selflessness, sacrifice, and dedication to service.
How can I participate?
COMPETITIVE HEAT – $20
Competitive Heats are designed for the most dedicated and competitive athletes. Compete against fellow fitness enthusiasts to prove strength, endurance, and mental toughness. Athletes competing in the competitive division will have to complete all reps. These athletes will have rep counters to officiate and verify their time and completion.
Time: [1 HOUR CUTOFF TIME]
NON COMPETITIVE HEAT – $20
Non-Competitive Heats are designed for casual athletes who want to prioritize completion over competition. Feel free to use our equipment aids (elastic bands) or you are welcome to modify the number of reps to your MURPH.
Time: [1:30 HOUR CUTOFF TIME]
TEAM MURPH – $40 per team
The team Murph was a popular addition that was first held in 2025. You and your friends can push each other and challenge other groups. This workout is fun, but intense. Team members can split up the reps amongst their group to take down the Murph in quick time. Teams can be anywhere from two to four people.
