Even in the face of ongoing harassment and lawfare, pro-life pregnancy care centers are thriving, having delivered more than $450 million worth of services and care and saving thousands of lives in 2024.
A national study released Nov. 18 by the Charlotte Lozier Institute reports that pro-life pregnancy resource centers increased support to women and families by nearly 50 percent in 2024, while serving a record number of clients and achieving exceptionally high satisfaction ratings.
The 2025 National Pregnancy Center Report, titled “Pregnancy Centers: Rising to the Occasion with Unwavering Care,” looked at data from 2,775 pregnancy centers nationwide and found a significant jump in the amount of help these organizations provided last year. According to the report, centers delivered roughly $452 million of medical care, education, counseling, and essential items for mothers and young children in 2024.
One of the biggest changes was the increase in material support. Between 2022 and 2024, the amount of diapers, wipes, clothing, and formula given to families rose by 48 percent. The researchers say that part of this growth reflects the greater demand for help after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022. In total, centers saw more than 1 million new clients last year, many of them women looking for pregnancy tests, parenting classes, or help connecting with local resources.
The report also shows how much medical care has expanded at these centers. Eight in ten centers now offer a range of free or low-cost medical services and are supported by more than 10,000 medical professionals nationwide. Ultrasounds remain one of the most common services provided. According to the data, 81 percent of centers offer ultrasounds and collectively performed 636,514 of them in 2024, while 29 percent of centers provide abortion pill reversal.
During that same timeframe, 92 percent of pregnancy centers provided material aid to families, distributing 6,353,386 packs of diapers, 1,604,996 packs of wipes, 4,980,839 baby outfits, and 373,531 cans of formula.
Dr. Sandy Christiansen, national medical director at Care Net, said the numbers reflect significant growth in the movement’s reach.
“As an Ob/Gyn physician, I am astounded by the numbers presented in this report because they represent thousands of lives saved and touched by the Christ-like support and skilled medical care provided by centers,” Christiansen said.
She noted that ultrasound exams increased 60 percent between 2017 and 2024. “Each one affects three lives: babies spared from death, and women and men protected from the heartache and risks associated with abortion.”
Client satisfaction rose as well. According to the report, centers recorded a 98 percent satisfaction rate in 2024, up from 97.4 percent in 2022.
The report includes testimonials from women who received help at centers. A Nebraska client who visited Assure Women’s Center said she felt respected and emotionally supported.
“They just didn’t judge me,” she said. “That they were there because they cared about not only me, but also my baby was very critical and very important to me. It helped me a lot.”
In Tennessee, a client who received services from Portico said the pregnancy resource center became a haven during a difficult period in her life. “I was going through a lot of stuff in my personal life and this was just a safe place for me where I could come and be open and honest about where I was at in my life,” she said. “Portico was honestly the only place that gave me any kind of hope.”
The report is the result of a partnership between the Charlotte Lozier Institute, Care Net, Heartbeat International, the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates, Focus on the Family’s Option Ultrasound Program, and several state-level coalition groups.
The organizations involved say the latest figures show that pregnancy centers are filling a growing need for practical support, especially for low-income parents and women without stable housing or insurance.
“As a rising tide lifts all boats, so too, the rise of pregnancy centers’ unyielding professional care and holistic support during this season of need is strengthening families and deepening the impact on American communities for good,” the report states.
The findings come at a time when pro-life pregnancy centers are facing legal and political challenges in several states that amount to lawfare. Legislators in New York, New Jersey, California, Delaware, and Illinois have used investigations, lawfare, legislation, and rhetoric to target pregnancy centers in an effort to silence them or drive them out of business. U.S. Rep. Josh Gottheimer, D-N.J., for example, has gone so far as to label pregnancy centers as “brainwashing cult clinics” while U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., has accused all pro-life centers of “luring” and “torturing” pregnant women and has demanded that Congress “shut them down all around the country.”
These centers also endured physical attacks by domestic terror groups like Jane’s Revenge and Antifa in the months following the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade , with nearly 100 of them the victims of vandalism, arson, and firebombings.
Despite the persecution, pregnancy centers have expanded their reach and are even more trusted by clients. Pro-life leaders say the report’s findings destroy the portrayals of pregnancy centers as harmful or deceitful.
The authors of the study say the movement’s continued growth also reflects changing public attitudes since the fall of Roe. With more states enacting restrictions on abortion and more women seeking alternatives, pregnancy centers have stepped into what they call a widening gap in services that support women and help families thrive.

This is how Christians effectively counter the evil of abortion. Pregnancy care centers serve as the hands and feet of Jesus in a situation when love and hope are truly needed. Their services provide much-needed support to mothers and fathers and help save the lives of countless children.
Scripture teaches that every human life carries the image of God. Pregnancy centers honor that truth by caring not just for unborn children but also for the mothers and fathers who carry burdens that others may never see. Many clients come through the doors bearing anxiety, fear, shame, or loneliness, but the help and support these individuals receive gives them strength and hope and reflects the heart of Christ.
The increase in material support, medical care, and other services is more than a nice statistic. Diapers, formula, clothing, ultrasounds, and education are instruments of hope. When a mother hears her baby’s heartbeat for the first time or receives the items she needs to fully care for her child, she is reminded that she is not alone. She sees that both God and those who follow Jesus truly care about her and her child.
Client testimonies show how powerful these simple acts of kindness can be. Many women describe these centers as places of safety and peace at a time when their lives felt chaotic. This is an example of Christ shining His bright light through ordinary people.
As believers, we should give thanks for this work — and we must support it both physically and financially.
Pregnancy care centers quietly model the Gospel by serving without judgment, meeting needs, and offering hope to those who feel forgotten. Their efforts remind us that Christian love is shown in the daily willingness to step into difficult places and humbly serve with truth and compassion.
