As the organization faces accusations of engaging in fetal tissue sales, coerced transgender treatments for minors, and parental rights violations, it’s time to ask: Why are American taxpayers underwriting Planned Parenthood’s inhumane empire?
The recent congressional investigation into Planned Parenthood has exposed a chilling reality that demands moral and legislative action. Allegations of parental consent violations, dismemberment abortions, and the harvesting of fetal tissue for profit are not only barbaric, they represent a complete betrayal of the values we claim to uphold as a nation.
Yet, despite these disturbing claims, Planned Parenthood continues to receive nearly $800 million annually in taxpayer dollars. It is unconscionable that federal funding supports an organization whose primary business is the destruction of innocent life.
A Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Subcommittee investigation was announced on June 13 to investigate Planned Parenthood’s potential misuse of federal funds — specifically concerning abortion services and the distribution of cross-sex hormones for minors.
“Planned Parenthood is an abortion giant that harvests organs from babies and uses nearly all of its resources to kill babies, not provide real healthcare. Despite receiving billions in taxpayer dollars, they offer almost no prenatal care, push late-term abortions, and even supply aborted babies for grotesque experiments,” wrote DOGE Subcommittee Chairwoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.). “As a Christian, I believe every life is a gift from God, and I believe it’s time Congress holds them accountable and stops the flow of federal funds to this evil and barbaric organization.”
Enough is enough. The American people should no longer be forced to subsidize a system built on violence, exploitation, and ideological extremism.
At the heart of the scandal is a self-evident truth: Planned Parenthood is not a neutral healthcare provider. It is a political and cultural engine for abortion on demand and the commoditization of unborn children.
Undercover reports have alleged that abortion procedures are sometimes altered to preserve organs for fetal tissue harvesting. The very idea that a child’s body could be dismembered and sold in pieces is morally repugnant. But when abortionists speak casually about “legs,” “livers,” and “intact specimens” while discussing pricing, it becomes clear that this is not healthcare. It is industrialized killing.
Planned Parenthood defenders argue that federal dollars do not directly fund abortions. But every public dollar frees up private resources for more abortions and political lobbying. No amount of accounting sleight-of-hand changes that reality.
Supporters also claim Planned Parenthood is essential for women’s healthcare. But internal data reveals the opposite: Non-abortion services like cancer screenings, contraception, and prenatal care have sharply declined, while abortions have steadily increased.
Meanwhile, the organization is doubling down on its most profitable — and most lethal — service, abortion, while also adding a new service: transgender medicine.
Planned Parenthood now provides “gender-affirming” drugs to minors, including puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, reportedly at times without full parental consent. Vulnerable children are being ushered into irreversible medical treatments by an ideology-driven system that disregards caution and long-term harm.
In a letter to Planned Parenthood President Alexis McGill Johnson, the DOGE Subcommittee wrote: “Recently released audio recordings expose multiple Planned Parenthood facilities offering a minor same-day access to cross-sex hormones with little medical supervision and questionable adherence to parental consent laws.”
Labeling its offerings as “reproductive freedom” or “gender affirmation” does not excuse them. Medicine without ethics is masked violence.
At the core of this national disgrace is a deeper cultural issue: We have lost our reverence for human life. A society that allows the body parts of aborted babies to be sold for research rationalizes evil in the name of choice. But there is no choice involved for the unborn — only death.
Some argue that defunding Planned Parenthood would strip women of essential healthcare. That is a false dilemma. Local clinics, state health departments, and private organizations across the country offer comprehensive women’s services without performing abortions. These providers are often more accessible and more transparent than Planned Parenthood, and they do it without violating fundamental moral principles.
Defunding Planned Parenthood is not about depriving anyone of healthcare. It’s about refusing to fund cruelty.
It’s also about protecting families. Parents deserve to know when their children are being prescribed hormones or referred for irreversible procedures. They deserve to know when their teenage daughters are being sent for abortions without their knowledge. Planned Parenthood routinely works to sidestep these parental rights in the name of “confidential care.” But secrecy and deception have no place in a system meant to support families.
Congress must act. Defunding Planned Parenthood is not an act of extremism — it’s a statement of conscience. It’s a line in the sand that says, “Not with my tax dollars.”
Planned Parenthood has tried to rebrand itself as a modern, progressive provider of women’s “reproductive care,” but behind the polished language and public relations campaigns is an ugly truth: it is a business built on death.
It is time for all Americans to demand a new moral standard. America must replace funding for Planned Parenthood with funding for services that serve women and children with compassion, integrity, and respect for life. We must support adoption, parental counseling, prenatal services, and crisis pregnancy centers. And we must call abortion what it is: a tragedy, not a right.
Human dignity begins in the womb. If we cannot defend life at its most vulnerable stage, we lose our moral compass entirely. As former President Ronald Reagan famously said, “I’ve noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born.”
No nation can claim to be just or compassionate while allowing its youngest citizens to be treated as disposable. This investigation is a wake-up call.
Now is the time for our nation to act and defund Planned Parenthood. Our country can restore a culture of life and demonstrate to the world that America still values every single human life.
